Oakley Construction, Inc. was founded to meet the needs of a changing marketplace and further expand on the reputation of quality that was already synonymous with the Oakley name in the construction industry. Barry Oakley's love of construction was derived from his father, B.N. Oakley, who had established his own residential/light commercial construction company in 1947. Barry officially joined his father's business in 1988. In 1993, Barry acquired his own general contractor's license and made the transition to Commercial/Industrial construction. In 1995, the company was incorporated.
Over our long family history, we have built a strong reputation for providing quality service and excellent craftsmanship. As a general contractor, we take great pride in the fact that we have the qualified staff and manpower to self perform a majority of the work that we are contracted to do.
In addition to our "job," we believe that we are responsible to the communities in which we live and work; thus community involvement is also an important part of life at Oakley Construction, Inc. Employees of Oakley Construction often volunteer their time and talents to help with charitable functions. The company spearheaded the construction of a new football field for the Donelson/Hermitage Warrior football program. The company also helps out local Churches like Andrew Price Memorial United Methodist Church with special projects such as roofing the house of an elderly parishioner who doesn't have the resources to do it otherwise.
Our employees are the lifeline of Oakley Construction, Inc. and our commitment to them is a high priority. We believe that our core foundation is only as strong as our individual team members, so we work to set a standard of excellence in employee education and recognition. We pride ourselves on providing a work environment that is conducive to both personal and professional growth.
This commitment to our company and employees is evident in the recognition received from our peers. In the fall of 2001, Oakley Construction, Inc. was awarded the Associated Builders and Contractors 2001 Award of Excellence in the Industrial $2-5 million category for our Design Build project for Communications Test Design, Inc. In the spring of 2000, the business community awarded Oakley Construction, Inc. the Small Business of the Year Award sponsored by the Nashville Business Journal.
Oakley Construction, Inc. believes that our dedication to employees is a direct correlation to the satisfaction of our clients. We take a team approach to servicing our clients' needs by assigning an experienced, dedicated team to each project resulting in an effective mix of talent. Efficiently run projects, clean, safe environments, and contracts completed in a timely manner on or under budget are reflective of the tradition long ago established by the Oakley family.
